Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of lisper (the “app” and the related service). By downloading, installing, or using lisper, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

The service

lisper is a macOS app for voice dictation and a voice-controlled agent that can perform actions on your Mac. Speech recognition and text cleanup run through our server and third-party AI providers. Features may change, improve, or be discontinued over time.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be old enough to enter a binding contract in your country. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account.

Trial, subscription, and billing

lisper offers a free trial (currently 24 hours, no credit card required). After the trial you may subscribe. Prices are shown in the app and on lisper.io and are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments already made are non-refundable.

Acceptable use

Do not use lisper to break the law, infringe others’ rights, or attempt to abuse, overload, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the service or its usage limits. We may suspend or terminate access for misuse.

Agent capabilities and your responsibility

Agent features can read context, control apps, manage files, and — if you enable it — run shell commands on your Mac. These capabilities are off by default; you choose which to enable and grant the required macOS permissions. The app asks for confirmation before making changes, but you remain responsible for the actions you instruct the agent to perform and their results. Please keep backups of important data. We are not liable for outcomes of actions you direct the agent to take.

Third-party services

lisper relies on third-party providers (for example Stripe for payments and AI providers for speech and text processing, as described in our Privacy Policy). Their availability and terms are outside our control.

Intellectual property

lisper and its content are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose while your subscription or trial is active. The text you dictate and produce is yours.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. AI output can be inaccurate; verify anything important. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Termination

You may stop using lisper at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or to comply with law. You can request deletion of your account as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the date above. These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
